Working at Helena Housing Authority (HHA) offers the opportunity to positively impact the lives of residents and to serve the Helena Community. HHA seeks on-call Snow Removal Technicians to operate truck- and ATV-mounted plows to safely manage snow removal on HHA-managed properties.
DUTIES
- Perform snow removal tasks for designated sites including parking lots and sidewalks, ensuring snow and ice are cleared within 24 hours of snowfall registering one inch or more.
- Operate ATV-mounted and truck-mounted snow plows and shovels to clear snow and ice. Ensure safe operation of all equipment.
- Place snow in designated areas to minimize the loss of parking space, maintaining access to garbage dumpsters and common areas.
- Apply Ice Melt and perform sanding operations where necessary after snow removal to ensure safe pedestrian and vehicular access.
- Work in inclement weather conditions to meet snow removal needs, and be available for on-call standby shifts.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A high school diploma or GED and two years related snow removal experience.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Montana Driver’s License and a driving record acceptable to insurance carriers. Ability to operate HHA vehicles.
- Experience in operating and maintaining snow removal equipment, including ATV-mounted and truck-mounted plows.
- Availability to participate in before- or after-hours work, as needed.
- Must pass an extensive background check, including an acceptable criminal background check.
ANTICIPATED NEW HIRE PAY RANGE
$18.00 to $24.00 per hour depending on qualifications. Guaranteed minimum of two hours of pay if placed on standby due to anticipated needs based on upcoming weather. To view the full position description, check out the job posting on our website:

As a short term employee, this position is not eligible to earn health insurance, leave and/or holiday benefits. The employee may be eligible to opt in on retirement contributions through MPERA/PERS.
